What an incredible dental experience! I’ve been a patient at Beam Dental for several years now and they continue to impress me! Easy, painless, simple. The doctors are wonderful and I'm also extremely impressed by the staff. Huge shoutouts to Asia, the receptionist, and Monica, the manager. Asia has been very helpful in providing smooth check-in, check-out, and scheduling experiences. Monica has gone above and beyond helping me understand the procedures I required, helping with the process, scheduling, billing, and more. She was extremely knowledgeable about the dental procedures and answered all questions I had with clarity. 👏🏻

Stay Away from Beam Dental
in Hoboken.  Despite this practice being listed as an “In-Network” provider on MetLife’s website, my son was seen by an “Out-of-Network” dentist when he arrived for his initial annual exam/cleaning/x-rays.  Needless to say, this practically depleted our annual allowance.  Then, then they gave him an estimate of $850 to fill four cavities, when my typical out-of-pocket is about $20-$40 per cavity.
There is general chaos in this office.  They do not return calls for weeks on end – not only regarding this billing matter, but also just requesting the initial appointment.  Monica’s lies and excuses were endless:   1. She told my son he cancelled his appointment on the day he arrived.   In fact, she told the next man to walk into the office the very same thing.  2.  She claims she told my son he was being seen by an out-of-network dentist before walking into the examination room, which was a total lie.  My son would have left immediately had he known this as he is aware of the higher costs associated with OON providers, and he specifically asked if they accepted MetLife when booking the appointment.  3.  When I questioned their $850 estimate to fill four cavities, she told me the dentist was in the process of applying to be in the network, and her office would honor the in-network price.  However, when his claim was submit to MetLife for his annual services, they didn’t see it this way and charged us the out-of-network price, which depleted his annual allowance.  4.  She told me MetLife didn’t know what they were talking about and was giving me “bad information”, when she was wrong all along.  I’ve had MetLife Dental insurance for approx 20 years and never have they given me misinformation.  After my numerous conversations with MetLife to review the negotiated fees using the dentist’s treatment codes, MetLife confirmed he should have had approx $400 remaining on his annual $500 allowance after the initial exam, and his projected out-of-pocket costs to have all four filled would have been approx $100 had the services performed on his initial visit been performed by an in-network dentist.  5.  She refused to admit her error.  She declined to participate in a three-way call with me and MetLife to resolve this matter, and told my son to call the office himself to discuss.  I am the cardholder, and this was not a privacy breach to discuss a billing matter, but she would not speak to me.  Save yourself a headache, money, and time and RUN!

Extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism and communication. The office closed today due to a doctor’s emergency, yet no one bothered to notify scheduled patients. I showed up completely unaware, wasting my time. When someone from another location finally returned my call, acted like she had no idea what was going on and only offered to reschedule after I asked what to do next. The soonest available appointment was a month away. I understand emergencies happen, but the way this was handled felt disorganized and disrespectful to patients’ time.
