The structure needs a lot of work. There's potential and truly believe that.  But There's a lot of improvement needed. I myself felt I placed into the wrong category. In terms of staff, majority of the nurses and workers were very nice. Specifically Mack, Rose( the nurse) and doctor's , other Team members, security guards, activity director (Grace was exceptional) the lecturer who spoke about the different types of mental illnesses was excellent. She gave visual and written instructions and information. The mindfulness aspect was done well and the instructor made it fun to learn coping skills. The cleaning lady worked so hard. She definitely needs a good raised. All the staff worked hard. Those who were supervising the groups were so nice. Some of the patients were friendly and funny at the same time. We live in an imperfect world as much as found some great things to say. I would loved it to make some minor changes and adjustments.

When i first walked in building, i had a nice female front desk lady and a security gentleman tall guy and receptionist for paper work. Overall operation went well and im blessed for all their hardwork.Dr.Noce👍

I see evidence of efforts to improve. I know there are people in various departments who are without a doubt the best of the best in their profession.  I see professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine concern for patients in most of the departments.  But there is a fundamental problem.  The administrators at the top of the organization are not focusing on the things that patients need.  Example: For months, the lobby has displayed pictures of what the new lobby will look like. It's going to look amazing!  Wow! But who cares about the lobby ? The average person spends a minute, maybe 3 minutes getting their visitor badge. Then we proceed to the elevators THAT DON'T WORK.  And we go into  areas that have SPACE HEATERS in the winter, and dollar store FANS in summer. HVAC DOES NOT WORK. The televisions in the patient rooms don't work. I repeat TVs DON'T WORK. Go the cafeteria.  Delicious food is served safely by personable, thoughtful people. But NO TRAYS. You have to figure out a way to carry your food to your destination. When visitors, employees or patients wait for a ride home, we sit on a bench that provides NO SHELTER from the rain, snow or broiling sun.  I am now going to Montclair for my mammograms because after decades of getting mammograms at my local hospital, Carewell cannot do mammograms. NO MAMMOGRAMS!? Not even during breast cancer awareness month.  The lobby could use a charging station. The Badge Workstations, in addtion to "Vistors" and "Contractors" should include an "Outpatient" option. (A suggestion I submitted previously). All of that other expensive decor being planned is a waste of money. Spend money on infrastructure that impacts patient care, instead of window dressing.

I want to thank the Carewell Health Medical Center from the bottom of my heart for having the wisdom and patience to treat me from the last few days when I almost lost my life. I won't have enough time to mention everyone name by name who served me but overall I can say that the team is very organized!!!
Now I am living with new blood in my body.

Been living in East Orange for over 20 years….this hospital hasn’t change they’ve just gotten new doctors and nurses who are taking interns. If they can’t find what’s wrong with you or it doesn’t make sense to them SCIENTIFICALLY they get you going or on your way…this hospital was rated 1 star for a reason. I’ve been giving medication (pills and injections) for conditions I don’t even have, then when they’re confronted oh it’s just a “precaution”. 2nd time within that week I came in I get an injection and then a nurse tell me “well your going to be in pain regardless” I said “and what does that suppose to mean do you know the reason or the cause of this pain?” She said nothing….right so don’t fix your face to tell me I’m in pain with no reason or cause of it but quick to inject me with something! Then the waiting room after you leave the bed is worse…..you’re better off going to Hackensack Medical or RWJ Barnabas in Livingston. Hell even UMDNJ better than this!
